When Jesus walked on the earth 2000 years ago, everywhere He went He brought hope to the despairing, healing to the sick, peace to the tormented, and food to the hungry. The news about Him spread throughout the whole country, so that crowds came to hear Him and be healed of their diseases. The good news is that Jesus has not changed, He is still changing lives! Whatever situation you may be in right now, He has an answer for you.
Many people are searching for the meaning of life, yet Jesus said that He came to give us life (John 10 v 10). Not an existence but a quality of life, a purpose and a reason to live. We don't have to go through every day wondering why we are here, Jesus decided on a purpose for us before the creation of the world, all we need to do is to seek Him to find out what it is.
Every person is valuable in God's eyes, there are no "weakest links". In fact if you feel like the "weakest link", then God wants to come and restore you again. The world wants to kick the hurting, but Jesus wants to heal the broken hearted.
At the end of His earthly ministry, men whom He had created arrested Him, falsely accused Him and hung Him on a cross. To the onlookers it seemed like a terrible end to a wonderful man of God, yet Jesus declared "no-one takes my life, but I give it freely" ( John 10 v 17-18 ). You see Jesus had the power to get down off the cross, for He was the Son of God, the one who flung stars into space, the one who was giving breath to the very men who were crucifying Him, yet He allowed them to do it. Why?
He was dying in our place, taking our punishment. All of our sins were laid upon Him at the cross so that we can receive forgiveness, be reconciled to God, and enter into eternal life.
Have you ever come to a place where you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour? Jesus did not just die, after three days He rose again, gaining victory over death.
